ChinaGenAI is an independent free OpenAI-compatible chat API project for software, small tools and scripts. The API uses unified connection settings and server-side model routing; it is not limited to Qwen, Chinese models or overseas models. Our model guides are discovery and educational entry points. We are not affiliated with DeepSeek, Alibaba/Qwen, Kimi or OpenRouter.
How we describe free access
We distinguish provider trials, specific zero-priced hosted variants, user-paid integrations and a site’s own subsidy. Every guide states what has been checked, links to provider documentation and avoids promising permanent unlimited access.
How we handle examples and tests
The supplier quotation and starting JSON in the workbench are constructed examples. They are not customer records or live model outputs. The checker validates syntax and required field types, and cannot establish factual accuracy.
A model comparison must identify the exact model and host, date, input, complete output, task criteria, token usage and failures. No live model leaderboard is claimed in this release. A successful HTTP status alone is not task acceptance.
Site-issued API access
The site pool is separate from provider accounts. It is off until upstream availability, identity and cost controls are verified. See API access and limits.
